I was born to John Anthony Berchelmann and Betty Coselli Berchelmann November 14, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas.
I am the second child of four. I have an older sister Betty Jeanette Berchelmann, a younger brother Christopher
Michael Berchelmann and a younger sister Kathleen Louise Berchelmann Schartz.
I grew up and lived in San Antonio, Texas through high school. I went to school from Kindergarten through 8th
grade at Mount Sacred Heart School for Boys which was a Catholic military school. I attended this school with
my brother Chris who was a year behind me, and my first cousin William (Billy) who is the same age and always
in the same class as myself.
Also in attandance at Mount Sacred Heart were two other cousins from Mexico City, George Busch and Guillermo
Fiero who were related to our grand parents Adolf and Anne Berchelmann.
I attended one year of high school at Antonian High School (a Catholic school run by the Christian Brothers)
and from there moved to Robert E. Lee High School, the home of the "Mad Rebel" and graduated in 1969.
I spent my first two years of college at Schreiner Institute where I played soccer was on the yearbook staff
and vice-president of my sophmore class. From there I attended the
University of Texas at Austin.
I married Jo Beth Shullanberger in 1973 and my son Ryan Nicholas Berchelmann was born on Jan. 11, 1978
and my daughter Taylor Lauren Berchelmann was born on Dec. 16, 1979 both born in Houston Texas where I first
worked in a bank for 2 1/2 yrs. and then owned a construction company.
In 1988 I entered Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. While in
dental school I did microbioloy research and was on the admission committe for the UT Health Science Center.
I entered into private practice in San Antonio Texas with my father, John Antony Berchelmann, in 1992 and
remain there today.
On May 27, 2000 I remarried to Lynn West (Ruiola) Berchelmann and live in San Antonio.
