Katie and Merle

I was born on August 20,1949 at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. I was the fourth of 6 children and was born inspite of the fact that Mom had her tubes tied, so I guess you could say that I was a big surprise and meant to be here and I cleared the way for Billy and Johanna. I loved my Mom and Dad and all of my brothers and sisters, and that includes Jimmy and Stephen.
I attended Mount Sacred Heart Girls school 1-8 grade and then attended Ursuline Academy for my freshman year and I was tired of being at an all girls school, so I went to Robert E. Lee High School 10-12 grade. I had a great time at Lee and made many good friends. I thought I was a "Surfer Girl" in High School. After graduation, there was a senior picnic and my cousin Betty Jeanette fixed me up with the love of my life, Merle Gothard. I knew, after that date, that he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. After I attended St. Mary's University for one year, and Merle joined the Air Force, we were married on December 27, 1968 at Blessed Sacrement Church in San Antonio. We have 3 wonderful children; Nora Kathleen, Christopher Brian and Roy Brent. We also have 5 beautiful grandchildren.I finally found out what my purpose in life is. Nora and John Franklin are the parents of: Catherine Marie and Alexis Nicole; Brian and Lee are the parents of: William Drake, Hayden Reid and Brinley Elizabeth.
We have lived in Clovis, New Mexico, Austin, Texas, San Antonio, Denver, Colorado, and back to San Antonio and we now live in Austin and have been there since 1993,which I haved loved, but plan to move back to San Antonio/Boerne area next year and I feel like we are coming home.
